Daniel Brewer
Senior Living Fund Manager

 Dan has over 30 years of business experience, including 11 years in a business consulting and management role for Accenture, 25+ years in business development and a successful 22 year track record in real estate investment, capital placement and management. He has strong analytical skills, and is adept at developing deep quality relationships.  He enjoys working with people, and loves to educate current and prospective investors.His real estate industry experience includes:

  • Fund Management.  Dan has managed numerous real estate funds and private investments since the early 2000’s.
  • Commercial Real Estate Investment.  His companies purchased, rehabilitated and sold numerous commercial properties.
  • Single Family Investment Properties.  His companies have purchased, rehabilitated and resold hundreds of homes.
  • Real Estate Lending.  Provided hundreds of asset-based property loans in 15 states and Mexico from a $25MM private equity fund.  He also placed a number of commercial loans for clients.
  • Residential and Commercial Development. Owned and invested in developments in Kansas City and Illinois.

He has particular expertise in project planning and management, business development, financial analysis and capital acquisition and utilization.  He is often consulted to help formulate and critique business plans and provide his perspective on various real estate investments.
Dan began working with clients in the senior housing sector in 2008.  He has developed extensive knowledge and key relationships in the sector since then, and is fully dedicated to the sector.  He has evaluated and analyzed dozens of senior housing developments during that period, and understands the characteristics of a successful deal.  He has utilized this expertise to shrewdly underwrite select deals and arrange the capital for them.

He has an undergraduate degree in Business Management and a Master’s degree in Management Information Systems.


Mark Shader
Senior Living Fund Director of Operations

Mark has over 25 years of business experience, including over 14 years in a business consulting and management role for Anderson Consulting (now Accenture). He has particular expertise in project planning and management, systems implementation, systems operations, financial analysis and management of real estate development projects. Mark earned his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Iowa State University.

Dick Kane
Senior Business Advisor
Dick Kane has over 30 years of executive business experience leading numerous business operations &transitions always providing exception organizational growth and profitability.  His leadership included senior executive positions in large corporations and in businesses that he owned and operated. He held a securitieslicense for many years to help investors grow their personal net worth though investments and sound advice.
Dick’s previous career experience includes:

• President/Owner – B & B Transfer Enterprises, Inc., 2000 – 2005• Regional Executive – Data Processing Resources Corporation, 1996 – 1999• Chief Information Officer – Midwest Resources & MidAmerican Energy Company, 1983 – 1996• Division Manager – Midwest Gas Company to facilitate a new Company Restructuring plan , 1994• Operations Engineer – Iowa Public Service Company, 1970 – 1982
Dick holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from South Dakota State University.  He has completed a number of executive business administration programs including a utility MBA program from Michigan State University.
Dick has successfully led the integration of numerous company acquisitions and mergers.  He has personally been instrumental in purchasing two companies and starting a company and then selling these companies.  In all organizational transitions and integrations he used ingenuity to increase profitability without sacrificing employee morale and employee turnover.  He is a compassionate leader who loves to help individuals and companies become successful.  Dick is active in many community and church activities.

Anthony Geraci
Senior Living Fund Securities & Legal Advisor 
Anthony Geraci is the managing partner and a principal of the Los Angeles, California based Geraci Law Group.  He is a leading expert in securities law and has authored numerous articles on real estate finance and securities subjects.  Mr. Geraci is a leader in creating national mortgage pools and mortgage funds as well as sophisticated net branching arrangements among several mortgage companies.
Mr. Geraci’s corporate practice focuses on acquisitions, sales and reorganizations; venture capital
transactions; securities including numerous public and private offerings with an aggregate offering of overten billion dollars ($10,000,000,000); broad-based tax planning including real estate development and
financing; real estate acquisition and exchanges; and preparation of loan documentation for lenders.
Mr. Geraci graduated in the top 10% of his class from Chapman University School of Law and served as extern to the Honorable Alex Kozinski with the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Geraci is a prolific speaker and has spoken at several national conferences including American Association of Private Lendersdiscussing hard money mortgage pools, private equity offerings, banking resolutions, including truth-in-lending and RESPA.
Mr. Geraci serves on the Board of Directors for International Infectious Diseases Institute, a non-profit corporation organized to provide resources and funding to doctors and clinics in developing nations.

Jeffrey Hyman

Senior Living Fund Senior Housing Industry Advisor

Jeffrey Hyman is responsible for the marketing of seniors housing assets for Colliers National Seniors Housing Group. Based in Chicago, Jeff is able to conduct transactions locally and nationally for regionaland national properties and clients. With over 30 years’ experience in real estate development and transactions, Jeff brings a strong development and building background to brokerage.  Clients have relied onhim to be an important resource in their decision making process when considering acquisition of existing facilities or senior development sites and is considered “a member of the team” for many of these clients.
Jeff’s client base is comprised of national senior housing providers, national REITs, institutional lenders, pension fund advisors and locally based senior housing developers.  In addition to marketing senior housing assets, The National Seniors Housing Group has provided facility valuations and pricing aswell as providing access to capital markets for debt and equity placement to facilitate transactions. This “full service” approach hasbenefited clients in the growth and positioning of their senior housing business.
Prior to joining Colliers, Jeff served as Senior Vice President at Grubb & Ellis Company’s Senior Housing Practice Group.  Jeff has also served in management of Land Tech Development Group, Burnside Construction & Management and Ocean Atlantic Group, responsible for the development of over 6,700 residential housing units in various regional markets.

Greg Owens 

Senior Living Fund Accounting & Tax Advisor 

Greg Owens is the managing member of CPA Firm Keller & Owens, LLC.  He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Greg received his undergraduate degree at Mid-America Nazarene University and went on to receive his Master’s in Business Administration at the University of Missouri.  Greg has over thirty years experience in public accounting, including over twenty years as a partner of Keller & Owens.  He has significant income tax, consultation and audit responsibilities to a wide variety of commercial enterprises and not-for-profit organizations.  His role includes supervision, review and direct involvement in a number of engagements.
